Mandylubug
Read, Write, Type has taken my girls that struggle with dyslexia and dysgraphia from aggravation and hardship in getting down their thoughts, to typing! They still have a long way to go, but I am SO encouraged by their progress. The ability to type has given them so much confidence and it is so much quicker than them trying to write it all. I am all grins today :) My daughter that is determined to have a blog about her beloved Unicow typed this today on her own: Unicow likes pizza and burritos. He also loves ice cream. Unicow likes to bowl with Mr. Man Bug. She is beaming from ear to ear, reading it over and over and stating she can't believe she typed that by herself. She is currently drawing pictures to illustrate her sentences! Eta: they started the program mid march. They have caught on to typing so well! Princess Ariel
My ds did that a few years ago and it was a great introduction to keyboarding for him. He has dysgraphia so it was a must for him. Glad it is working so well for your dc!
ElizabethB
It is the only online phonics I recommend, the others all have too many sight words or teach in other ways that encourage guessing. The typing is a bonus!!

Any one use this program as their main program to teach reading?

Any one use this program as their main program to teach reading? I used it as a supplement, but if it is working, you could use it as your main program supplemented by something else, AAR might not work, you would need something like Blend Phonics, where things are laid out in a simple manner and you can easily skip portions or do less of one area and more of another.
