helent97
Just posting to say how excited I am to begin more of a Classical Education. I just ordered VP Memory Cards, Figures in Motion Paper Cut Outs, the 'Who in the World.....' series for readers and my OWN copy of TWTM Hardback. No one else in my house will be as excited as I but I know alot of you will understand! Ha. I spent hours looking into Memoria Press curriculum yesterday and VP previously. The Well Trained Mind seems to suit us best and I am so grateful for it. And for this forum. Susan Wise Bauer will be coming close to where I live in PA in June so I also look forward to hearing her speak. Am I correct in thinking that her way as prescribed in TWTM is more flexible than Memoria Press and Veritas? I am upping my son's reading time daily. Doing assigned reading now and not just free reading. (he's not a fan of books- say what?!) and started him notebooking last week. Thanks for indulging me. Have a great week!!!! serendipitous journey
Congratulations on getting going and upping the "classical"! :) TWTM is more open-ended about resources than MP and VP -- there are more options at each level, and for each subject. However, I've heard that VP online history classes are terrific (if they line up with your worldview). And best of luck encouraging a love of reading in your little one: this is so valuable. I hope your supplies arrive soon, and that you have a great week yourself!
llifeon18wheels
I've come to this excitement recently as well! I'm now in love with MP, have gained so much confidence that I can create my OWN curriculum that incorporates the Classical Education method and I have the 1999 and 2009 versions of Susan's book. It just gets me so excited. My husband tries to be, he really does but it's not the same as coming on here and chatting with others that FEEL it too.
