Guest
My ds just started Writing with Skill today, and did the very first lesson. Here is his narration after he combined some sentences. The pepins had many problems and they had a fine nebor Mr. Bradshaw. They had two children and a dog and cat. They had toads in there shoes and asked for help from Mr. Bradsaw. He did this narration all on his own. How does it sound? There are capitulation, and spelling errors. He also combined some sentences together that probably shouldn't have been. Am I suppose to go over all these errors with him, and have him rewriting his narration? ETA: I just reread the beginning of the instructor text, and it does say to have him revise it. So, he is doing that now :).

homefree3
My dd started WWS this week. For comparison here is her first narration. The Pepin Family wake up to toads in all their shoes one morning and ask themselves what to do. Irving said "Maybe, we should go next door" and that is what they did. We discussed the need to write down bullet points to include all the important events. She had skipped that step. Here is the revise.. The Pepins always have problems, today they have toads in their shoes. They went and asked if Mr Bradshaw had toads in his shoes. He also had toads in his shoes and no one could think of a solution. She is challenged by WWS. I am hoping WWS will work for her but she is having trouble with summarizing and she is getting upset. On day 2 and day 3 she started making huge run on sentences to summarize within the in 6-7 sentences limit. I would love to see more summaries and opinions for WWS 1 assignments. homefree3
I don't know how to move my post. I noticed the WWS thread to post by assignment week. I will respond to that thread and look forward to reading thru it!
