NavyMommy
I am starting to look for a good handwriting program for DD for next year. She's 5 and finally has her fine motor skills where they need to be to start more writing. She's pretty good with some capitals (her name) but resists lowercase and letters with curves. I was thinking HWT may be a good fit, but it appears they only cover capital letters in K and lowercase in 1st. Is that correct? Would it be reasonable to speed up K and 1st so that she's writing well by the end of K? That's my goal. What other handwriting programs would you recommend? Thanks! sarahj
Our HWT K book covers both upper and lowercase. The Pre-K book covers only uppercase.
NavyMommy
Awesome, thank you! I was just going off of their website. Glad to hear it!
SevenDaisies
You wouldn't really have to speed them up to finish K and 1 in a single year. If you use their suggested schedule, I believe each is only 18 weeks. K covers upper and lower. Grade 1 briefly reviews upper and concentrates on lower. NavyMommy
That's awesome! Thank you so much for the feedback! I am excited about hopefully getting her into writing more gently, jumping right into the ZB workbook was to overwhelming. I've also ordered the short pencils because I think that will really help. Thank you again!
