Anyone want to give me some advice?

Son is about to be a senior. He's looking at engineering, and will likely be enrolled in an online engineering academy run by a local ps teacher (VERY cool resource, he's a pilot tester for homeschool students). I think he'll take 2 semesters of computer applications.

Other coursework: Derek Owens Calculus, Speech & Debate with the local NCFCA team, some lit with me for senior english. Auto Maintenance as an elective, as well.

I'm looking at the following options for Physics:

Derek Owens Physics

DIVE Physics (uses Saxon)

Giancoli Physics using the Giancoli Answers website

DO Physics would be the easiest for me as the teacher (I have 3 younger students), but most $$.

DIVE Physics looks easy to use, but i'm not sure of quality.

Giancoli looks excellent, but I'm not sure how to assign tests, etc.

Thoughts?

I don't know about DIVE or Giancoli, but Derek Owens

is very good.

I do know Giancoli is a very good text. I can't imagine there isn't a set

of tests that you can get for it. There are many websites that teachers

develop for their students that have tests for textbooks.

You could always use other tests from another curriculum.

Just in case you don't already know, Giancoli is one of the most popular texts used with AP Physics B (the algebra based course). It's well respected and thorough, and as jhschool mentioned, there are scads of resources available.

I think Derek Owens started with it and then eventually created his own material.
