Has anyone used these? We have a ton of art supplies on hand for my pre-k daughter, but we don't do much in the way of crafts or art "projects" and I know I'm far more likely to get things done if they come prepackaged for me. The price seems a little steep, though, and I can't find many reviews. I'd love to hear others' experiences with these!

:bigear: I've been looking at kiwicrate forever. I'm so tempted to just subscribe to it for my dd's 3rd birthday. She really really doesn't need any toys etc. I've hesitated though because I just don't know if it's worth it.

I bought 3 kits for my dd when she was 3.5. I was about to have baby number 3, and I thought these would be great for her to keep her busy. The kits are great, very professional, but they were too hard for her to do them independently. If I sat down with her, no problem, but that wasn't my point in buying them initially. Now that she is 5, I was thinking about starting up the subscription again. Overall, I was very pleased.

So if a parent is okay with sitting down and doing them with a 3 year old, would you recommend them?

They're very high quality supplies with well done instructions but they were too complex for my 4 year old to do. He could help but mainly it was Mommy doing the project and then him playing with the end result. I suspended my subscription (love that you can do that) and will try it again when I feel that he'll be able to actually do them. While we have a lot of art and craft supplies and do a quite a few projects, I really liked having a project that I didn't have to plan and has all the supplies together. Plus my son LOVED getting a box in the mail.

They also have a referral program, where new users can get a kit for $10 off and you can earn free kits if people use your link. http://www.kiwicrate.com/Refer?i=KathleenAW

Love, love, love them! :) My DH actually does these with our 5 year old DD and has been doing so for about a year. I'm not crafty/artsy in the LEAST so that's why I initially subscribed to these. Then my DH volunteered to do them and he's loved it ever since. He loves that they come with everything you need and then we usually expand on them by studying more about whatever it was my DH and DD built.

Oooohhhh, this looks soooo cool. Back in the dark ages when I was a child, my parents got a monthly subscription to something like this. I absolutely loved it, and my parents still have a few of the items around the house. Then the idiots repeated after a year, so we had to stop.

So, if I do it with her, is it really appropriate for a just turned 3-year-old?
