jail warden
my ds8 needs more practice with adding and subtracting. He can do it, but the speed is not there. I've been thinking about QuarterMile math. He is very competative and loves racing, so that sounds nice, but when he gets too excited he gets sloppy. QuarterMile is a bit pricey and I need to be very diligent about where the dollars go right now. I am hoping there might be something else fun and cheaper out there that would help him. Suggestions please! TIA Lori
susie in tx
How often do you play the games? IMHO, if funds are an issue, I'd get the games out and start playing every day. The games are designed to be the drill for this program. OTOH, I had a dd that needed a lot of reinforcement and I didn't play the games with her, so I purchased a program that had a lot of review in it. She needed it for a season and is doing fine now, just going through the program. We just started Level D.
jail warden
They still need me there quite a bit with playing the games or one will just take over and say the answers, usually my very bright and quick dd. Lori
HappyGrace
MathShark and also Flashmaster-both can be used independently. There are also some good and free online math games to practice facts-perhaps someone can jump in and recommend some.
susie in tx
I picked up CLE and my dd worked through several of the units. It was almost all review, but it helped her to gain confidence. The units are inexpensive. You might want to pick up one to try. I picked up the entire year and didn't use over half of the units.

Tara from Florida
you may also want to try going to AAAStudy for their math practice especially if he likes computers and/beating the clock type games. It just may be the competative edge you and he are looking for. Best of all it is FREE!!!!! It also has some good activities for geography and some other subjects.
