SKL
I have a nephew for whom I want to buy a book. He's a very intelligent, serious, mild-mannered, introverted Eagle Scout. He's active in church but not a "holy roller." His dad is conservative and his mom is liberal. So nothing too "in your face" one way or the other. I know there are some great books out there, but I've been out of the loop for too long. Suggestions?

Kim in Appalachia
My first thought was the Hobbit, then the Lord of the Rings trilogy. What kind of books does he like to read?
JudoMom
I haven't read it yet, but I love Metaxas, so I would go with his new book, 7 Men.
SKL
What about a biography of a person he admires? Martin Gilbert's Churchill? I don't know whom he admires, though, so I was hoping for some biography suggestions of people you guys admire. LOL. :)

SKL
My first thought was the Hobbit, then the Lord of the Rings trilogy. What kind of books does he like to read? He's been a voracious reader all his life, plus his dad is a fantasy buff, so I'm sure he's read all of these long ago. Great suggestions, though! This is the problem with books - you never know what they already have, especially this kid.
SKL
Oh my goodness, you are going to bankrupt me! Excellent, this is exactly what I wanted! Need to place a rush order with Amazon.
OrganicAnn
Laddie by Jean Stratton-Porter It might be a little old fashioned. I love the Manchester biography of Churchill but it is 3 big volumes and it doesn't even cover WWII or his later life (he did have quite an adventurous life).
