mrs.m
We used Sonlight's Readers list and guide this year and it was not highly successful. He liked all the books that weren't too girly. I switched out a few of the books for that reason. We have a few more to finish over the summer. I want him to read everything I see, which isn't realistic. I need suggestions to help narrow it down. We will be studying the Middle Ages mostly this year, so historical fiction books around that time period would be great. (and I'm getting ready to look at WTM list to see what I can get from that... Wishing I didn't have that on my Kindle. It's too hard to flip to where I need to go!!!)
Kfamily
We read Crispin by Avi as a family and enjoyed it. Here are a few others: Door in the Wall by Marguerite de Angeli Robin Hood by Roger L. Green The Story of Rolf and the Viking's Bow by Allen French King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table by Roger L. Green These all have boys as main characters....well, in Door in the Wall the boy has a sister too.
Clear Creek
Adam of the Road is another good one set in the Middle Ages...my daughter enjoyed it, but it is most definitely not girly!
