mymommy1
I'm looking for activities to work on SPD issues with my 8 year old at home. I've read Out-of-Sync Child has Fun. Before I buy, is there a better book or a really good website? Thanks!
PeterPan
It's not exactly sensory (more midline and brain integration, but the activities that are part of the C8Kids program are very good. Right now you get in by donation.
mymommy1
Thanks, we are doing those. It's amazing what he gets and doesn't on those. Can't wait for the first evaluation. I was just hoping to add some things to it.
PeterPan
Well you're doing awesome! Sure OOSCHF is great. So you're getting an OT eval? For us the OT did vestibular every session. Single line swing, that sort of thing. Start really slow (to tolerance) and work up. Anything for core, upper body, toning. Wheelbarrow is good... Guest Insync
Have you tried the book, Growing an In-Sync Child: Simple, Fun Activities to Help Every Child Develop, Learn and Grow? Written by Kranowitz and Newman, it includes more than 60 activities designed to improve sensory functioning. The same authors published the In-Sync Activity Cards, 50 new activities designed to develop and enhance sensory development of young children. Both are available on amazon.com.
