Susan in TN
Do you have any? I realized a couple months ago that I have to have my ears covered to go to sleep. I sleep on my side (one ear "covered" by pillow) and I snuggle the comforter around my other ear. If they're not covered I feel exposed and somewhat unsafe. Cinder
I have to be covered up to my chin.
Parrothead
I have to snuggle down so my feet hang off and I have about a 18 inches from the top of my head to the top of the mattress. I prefer the room cold so I can sleep with the flannel sheets, a blanket, a quilt and a comforter. I must have two pillows at the exact appropriate height. If they get worn down I get rid of them and buy new. I need something for a book separator. For some odd reason I can't stand them to flop together and touch. Pillows don't work so I have a teddy bear. No wonder I have a sleep disorder.
jelbe5
In order for me to sleep comfortably I must be covered, even in the hot summer (at least with a sheet, but often a blanket). I also feel the need for white noise. Since college days I have slept with a fan running on low through the night, all year long. If the power goes out in the night and the fan stops I wake up. I love the 3 white noise apps on my phone for when we are away from home.
DragonFaerie
I have to be covered, too, no matter how warm the weather. I also have a pillow on each side of me in addition to the one I sleep on (yep, that's a nest of three pillows for me!). And no body part, nothing, I repeat, NOTHING must be hanging over the edge of the bed at any time. I watch the movies. I KNOW what lives under the bed. :D
Seasider
I also need my ears covered! But my long hair, strategically placed, usually suffices. I need to feel a bit of weight to my coverings. So a sheet alone wouldn't cut it. However, I must be able to wriggle my toes/feet free for some cool air. Can't sleep with anybody breathing in my face. That really bugs me! Pawz4me
I have to be covered, too. Except I often stick one foot out. The sticking-one-foot-out is a quirk shared by several females in my family. And I also like to sleep flat on my back with the pillow over my face.
Rose in BC
I need my ear covered as well. And I definitely can't have dh breathing on my face.
Mango
Yup, that's what I do! I sometimes even have to use ear plugs. Just the nose peeping through. And I can't wear socks either.
Cinder
And I also like to sleep flat on my back with the pillow over my face. My dh sleeps on his front with a pillow on his head. I used to give him loads of grief about that. But a pillow on your face? That's even more grief-worthy.
DragonFaerie
DS used to tie a baby blanket around his head to cover his eyes. I made him stop that because I kept finding him sound asleep with the blanket slipped down around his neck! Now he just lays it across his face and kind of tucks it under his head. Weird kid.
clarkacademy
I prefer to sleep sitting up propped by a bunch A BUNCH of pillows.
GailV
I can't have any breeze or air movement, including someone breathing on me. But, really, that sort of thing bugs me when I'm sitting at the computer, or sewing, or driving. I cover up as much of my face as possible, but that's mostly because I don't want any cats sniffing my face and tickling me with whiskers, or poking me with a paw. Sleeping with socks on bothers me. But, then again, wearing shoes bothers me. Hmmm, many of my sleep quirks are just general lifestyle quirks....
Jenn121
I must have part of my feet sticking out. In winter it is often just me toes. I cannot stand hot feet. Also I must bee covered. (sheet is fine) and the fan must be on! If there is no air movement in the room I feel like I am suffocating.
Mommy22alyns
It has to be fairly cool in the room. I have to have enough blankets to create "weight" on me. I've also slept with a body pillow since I got pregnant with Rebecca.
PrairieSong
I have to be covered up completely and I sleep with two pillows, one underneath my head and one on top, over my ear. Growing up, I shared a room with my little sister and my grandma. They slept in a double bed and were chatterboxes so I covered my head to get to sleep. Dh has to have his feet sticking out of the covers.
Belacqua
My ideal bedroom would be six blankets in a meat locker. No wearing socks for sleeping, though; gives me Kafka dreams.

I'm this way too, but dh needs the air constantly moving. Sometimes I make "air shelters" with my comforter and pillows to minimize the breeze. I can usually tolerate the ceiling fan on low. J-rap
Only that if I'm too warm, all I have to do is stick out one foot and then I'm perfect.
UncleEJ
I hadn't really thought I had many sleep quirks until I read this thread! Turns out I have more than a few lol. Biggest one is that I have to have the sheets nice and tucked in and taut. I can't stand if either the top or bottom sheet is loose and wrinkly. I've been known to rip the covers off the bed in the middle of the night to retuck the sheets. I also REALLY REALLY love down comforters. Like really! When I lived in AK, this wasn't an issue, but now that I'm in TX it is. I love a cold room and a big fluffy down comforter, but in the summer I can't have that. I guess I could but I wouldn't love the electric bill! I too, must be covered with something and no socks ever. My husband works out of town about 75% of the time, and when he's gone I sleep with a pillow on either side of me in the middle of the bed ;-). Oh! I absolutely can NEVER sleep with open doors. Not the closet door, not the bedroom door, not the bathroom door. None!

*********
All you non-sockers are funny. I like the room cold so that I can snuggle under the blanket. I sweat easily, always have. If I forget to turn the heat down before I go to bed I have a miserable night's sleep. I also MUST wear socks. And there is no way EVER that I will be able to fall asleep if someone is breathing on my face. I feel like I'll suffocate because I won't get adequate oxygen. Wow, I'm weird. fairfarmhand
I must be covered at least with a sheet, even if I am warm. Covers must be up to my upper lip and covering the back of my neck. I am also a bed/hog slash cuddler. Sometimes that drives my dh batty. Especially when he's mad at me.
DragonFaerie
I can't wear socks to bed, either. I also can't stand anything that might get wrapped around my legs when I sleep, so no pj bottoms or long nightgowns, and definitely no loose sheets.
NoseInABook
No socks whatsoever. Blankets and sheets cannot be tucked in, if my feet are trapped it is NO GOOD. My arms are usually over my head, covering my ears.
Giraffe
I must have my feet covered, no matter how suffocatingly hot it is. It can be just up to the ankle, though I prefer mid-calf. Otherwise the monsters will get me. :)
Mom in High Heels
I cannot sleep with socks. I feel like I can't breathe, which makes no sense as I breath with my nose and mouth, but whatever. I must be covered! Even in the summer. I must have white noise and air flow. We keep a fan going year round, so this takes care of both issues. I cannot be touched while I'm sleeping. This bothers James Bond, as he likes to snuggle, but I just can't. Sometimes I'll snuggle up to him and we'll talk for a while, but then I scoot over to my side of the bed to actually sleep. We have a king size bed, but when we go somewhere, there are usually queens, which means he'll roll over and touch my arm or my leg and it makes me bonkers. somo_chickenlady
I have to sleep in skin tight clothing, and my legs and feet must be completely covered as do my shoulders, b/c anything loose rubs against my skin when I breathe and I can't sleep. It is physically painful when I feel my clothing rub against me, and I will have a panic attack. For some reason, I can have my arms bare without a problem (not my shoulders, though). *shrug* I wear full length stretch pants, a tight tank top, a tight t-shirt over that, and socks, every night. I also have to sleep completely under the covers with them pulled over my ears, even if I'm hot, and I have to sleep with a body pillow. I CANNOT have any breeze blowing on me, either...similar thing to the tight clothing. This drives DH crazy b/c he would prefer a strong fan on him every night and I just can't do it. Yes, I am fully aware of how weird I am. ;)DS sleeps wrapped up like a burrito every night, and DH can't have the covers tucked in at the foot of the bed and sleeps with one foot out at all times. DH loves that! ;-) I hate when the top sheet is not sort of clinging to the comforter if that makes sense. Like if the sheet is all loose between DH and I.
