Harriet Vane
My ds defended a weaker child who was hurt, then made fun of. No one else offered the child any help, not when he was hurt, nor when he was upset because the group was making fun of him for being hurt. My son asked, loudly, why wasn't anyone doing anything to help?!? And then he went and got help. I am so proud of my son for choosing to defend and to help. Just bursting with pride. J-rap
Good for your son! This is what would make me happier than almost anything! Whenever I see those dumb bumper stickers on cars that say "My child is an A-Honor Student" or whatever, I think how much more meaningful it would be if it said "My child went out of his/her way to be kind and help someone today." aggieamy
You should be so proud of him. If he's got that much moral conviction as a kid just think what a great and kind man he's going to be.

KristenR
This is something to be VERY proud of your son for. Way to go!!! Granted my kids are too young to talk to about the horrors involving the rape in Ohio where all those people stood around or joked-- but this horrific event has resulted in a resurgence in my anti-bully/bossy talks with my girls. I'm so proud of your son for not being silent bystander.

Catwoman
Your story brought tears to my eyes. We need a lot more kids like your ds! :hurray: But your ds wouldn't have done what he did if he didn't have a great mom who set good examples for him, so I want to send you a little applause, too! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
