Believe it or not I went ahead and weighed this morning. It was on my dad's scale and I don't know for sure how it compares, but I was down 1 lb.

142.2 this morning, continuing the slow but steady trend. At least is was over half a lb this time - .6lbs to be precise. :tongue_smilie:

I was down another pound and a half on Thursday, but today it is back. So I am still the same as last time I checked in. I suspect it was the pancakes and log cabin syrup that I had for dinner last night. :001_rolleyes:

Okay, I checked again today. I have slowed down on the weight considerably. I am only down 1.5 pounds in 12 days. so... now 197.5.

So I started 2/20 at 208 lbs and 39.4% body fat. Now 7 weeks later I am 197 lbs and 35.9% body fat. I have gone down 3/4 inch in the bust, 2 inches in the waist, 1 inch abdominals, 1 inch in the hips, 1/2" each thigh, 1/4" each arm.

That means that I only lost 10.69 lbs of body fat. I lost 10.5 pounds. I was hoping that I had lost more fat and built more muscle. hmmm

I just figured out that is 3 oz of more meat on my body. ha

I was up a pound this week. The only exercise I get is walking the dog and turning my dad. I am trying make good choices when I eat, but I'm also eating what is available and convenient. I'll
worry about weight later.

OK, here it is. It ain't pretty, but it's also not as bad as I'd feared. (I told myself I wouldn't make myself weigh in for a couple of weeks, but finally decided I'd rather know the ugly truth now.)

Starting weight 12/27: 203
April 4 weight: 166
Today's weight: 168
Difference: +2

So I'm still down 35 pounds overall. I'm fairly confident I've lost some muscle and added on some fat these past two weeks, but hopefully my two weeks' vacation won't have damaged my progress too greatly. Happy to be getting back on track!

Another small drop for me this week. I'm happy I had any loss with my sweet tooth going crazy and my cheeseburger and 2 cocktails Saturday. And I've decided I'm okay with my half lb a week. I am really trying to change my lifestyle this time around, not diet, so I am still eating most of the same foods I ate before. I'm just watching portion sizes and making a few healthy substitutions - small changes for the whole family, things we will stick with and make part of our new routine. That way hopefully I won't be going through this process again in 2 or 3 years.

Start: 149
This week: 141.8
Goal: 130

Okay I ate half a strawberry pie over the weekend and so far my weight is 197... I think that is 1/2 pound down. I will take it. I cheated all weekend.

Seriously, that sounds good. If I could eat strawberry pie and still be down a half I'd be celebrating (maybe with another piece of pie!)

Okay, people, party's over. I gained again this week because I mostly goofed off (I didn't eat BADLY like on vacation, but still did not make all wise choices; and I didn't exercise much). I refuse--do you hear me??? REFUSE!--to have those numbers go back up!!!!!!!

So I kicked off today with a plain egg white omelette (which was gross because I was also sweeping the floors and forgot about it and it burned, but I made myself eat it anyway :ack2:). I'm going back to just one cup of coffee per day. And I'm restarting the water drinking. Really, this time.

It's gorgeous and cool out this morning (70s! I :001_wub: Virginia), so late morning I'll go for a run, and then tonight I'll resume my ChaLean Extreme strength training. Here goes!!!

Today's weight: 170
Diff from last week: +2
Total weight loss: 33

Hi Cheryl! Welcome to the We're Trying Really Really Hard (Most of the Time) to Get Fit group! I :001_wub: these people.

Since the beginning of February or so I've been doing the 90 day Beach Body program called "ChaLean Extreme," which is sort of like a baby p90x. It's been perfect for me, especially as I'm stretching it into a 120 day program. :D I've lost 20 (ish) pounds on CE so far. I love how it's as challenging as you want it to be--you can move up to heavier weights whenever you're ready, for example. It's a great mix of strength training (3 days) and cardio/cardio interval (2 days), with abs and a "stretching" (sort of like a baby yoga) thrown in.

On the 2 days "off," I add in extra cardio, which for me used to be other DVDs, but now is running. I probably need even more cardio, but all things in moderation, eh?? :tongue_smilie:

Great way to get started Cheryl! I forgot to weigh myself today because we were all trying to decide what to do about the club closing. Ugh, will have to try a weigh-in Thursday, though I really don't want to... I guess I should stay honest for you all.

I weighed in Sunday last week, but I'm going to be gone for the weekend and I hate weighing on Monday, so I decided to move my weigh in to today. I gained 5 lbs during the 3 weeks that I was at my dads, but this first week home I lost 3 of them!! We always joke about resetting our metabolism by overeating, but I think I actually managed it.:hurray:

I have stayed steady at 197 1/2 during my higher calorie metabolism boosting phase 3 of the Curves plan.

Good morning, everybody!!!

I'm tickled pink at today's weigh-in. Apparently the extra cardio (running) is really helping me out. I didn't do the strength training consistently, so I'll work on that this week, working up to the point where I'm doing both regularly. And unfortunately I've ignored abs altogether. BUT anyway...

Original weight (12/27): 203
Last week's vacation weight: 170
Today's weight: 165
Difference: -5
Total weight loss: 38 pounds!!!!!

Hopefully next week I'll hit the big 4-0!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!!! I can almost see the 150s... and honestly I can't remember the last time I was in the 150s, but I can guarantee you it was the mid-90s. WOWOWOWOWOWW!!

5 lbs, WOO HOO!

I on the other hand was terrible and gained over the weekend. I knew I would be. I planned on it. I needed comfort food to help me through the memorial service and the whole stressful weekend. My plan was to not worry about it all and work hard again this week. I did the first part, now I need to follow through on the second half - work it off!

CCM that is amazing!!! I may have to step up my efforts at running, lol!

I weighed in on Monday at 142.4, down .2 from last week but still up from the week before. Hopefully now that the plague has lifted and I'm back to my regular exercise schedule I'll get the rest off and start watching those numbers go down again.

Last week I didn't post, but my weight didn't change. I gained a couple of pounds over the weekend and relost them through the week. This week was better. I'm only down 1/2, but I have stabilized after bouncing around. I didn't lose more because I wasn't very careful with my eating, but it was nice to not be very careful and still lose a little.

As mentioned in my post on the exercise thread, I am just getting over a killer stomach bug. I weighed 142.2 on Monday before I got sick, and 137.8 this morning. I'm sure I'll gain most of it right back now that I can eat a little, but it did make me feel slightly better about the misery of the last few days. :tongue_smilie:

By the way, haven't reported here in ages because I've been more maintaining than losing, which is an exercisey way of saying I've been lazy. So in honor of Momto2Ns and my pledge to kick my own bootie (now there's an attractive image), here goes. I now weigh-in on Wednesdays.

Alright, if you can do it so can I. I weighed 184 today. That number IS going to start moving down.

For me yesterday included homemade ice cream and an incredible peanut butter pie (and I don't really like peanut butter I just took a sliver to be polite and then went back and got a second sliver!).

I lost one pound this week. Its frustrating for the amount of exercise I'm doing. Went to my migraine specialist and he told me one of the main side effects of the medicine I started last summer is weight gain. I gained 15 pounds in 3 months after starting it and NOW he mentions it! He said it is probably the reason I haven't lost more in spite of the exercise and diet. I'm switching the med, but when I read the packaging for the new one, weight gain and craving sweets were both on the list of side effects for it too :(

Anyway, that is 183 today.

Aww, so sorry Debbie! But this is the part where you remind yourself not to focus on the numbers, and instead think of how fit you're becoming with all this exercise. Exercise is good stuff! No meds can counteract that part of it.

It's worth it! And you are doing GREAT!

This has been a terrible diet week for me. I have cheated too many times and there were two days I didn't work out. In spite of that, I'm down 1 1/2 pounds, yeah!

Okay, I weighed in yesterday. I was worried with no exercise. My weight stayed the same from the week before (when I refused to admit I was up 2 lbs). Maintaining until I feel better is ok I guess.

I had a lousy, lousy week. Ate junk; only worked out twice. And it's my monthly. And dh is away for a week, so it's me and the kidlets on our own, which means no gym. And ds(1) has been getting up at 5:30am, so no chance for me to workout early. I'm just sayin--it was a tough week.

This is the week where *I* don't feel like sharing!

Today's weight: 160

Yes. That's right. The scales say I gained 4lbs this week. I don't entirely believe it. But anyway, I'm going to do better this week and kick myself back into the 150s. I can see 140 on the horizon!!

I'm sorry. I know you were really after that 50 lb mark too. With any luck it's mostly water retention and with a little work maybe the gain and those last few pounds will be gone next week so we can celebrate. I'm proud of you for posting anyway. Sometimes putting it in print is worse than seeing it on the scale.

It's been a week and I haven't been here at all. I haven't worked out so much as once. I have been quite sick but I'm finally recovering. I thought my weight today was the same, but now that I get here I see I am up 1/2.

Recovering from being nasty sick is a workout in itself!!! No judgment here, believe me. :grouphug:

I haven't been officially working out much since I had a race last Sunday, my first-ever 10k. I ran the 6.2 miles in 1:07:51, which was a disappointment to me as I'd wanted to finish under 1:05. But at least I finished the race, yay, AND, as dd(6) pointed out, I wasn't last. :D

Weigh-in tomorrow. I'm not worried; I'm pretty confident my number's going back down to where it belongs. Back in the saddle yet again! Here we go!

Oh sure. Why does it always work like this. I report my lousy weight on weigh in day, then today I'm 3 pounds lighter. Will I be 3 pounds lighter next Tuesday? Probably not :glare:

Isn't that the TRUTH!? Well, just keep the big picture in focus--you KNOW you're headed downward, which is fantastic, even if it's not reflected in this week's number.

As for me, with the race & some lighter eating, I eked out a good number today (I also think last week's number was slightly inflated). But I know it'll go back up in a heartbeat if I don't really dig back into my working out and eating right this week. I especially need to do weights, which I've almost completely abandoned because of running.

Yeah! Proof that you didn't deserve that ugly number last week :). You'll get that 50 pound mark in no time.

I leave on vacation a week from today. I am having trouble figure out when to fit in workouts now that school has started and I know I won't really worry about what I eat on vacation. I'm not likely to see any good results again for awhile, but that's ok. I don't want my whole life to be about my weight. I just want to keep an active lifestyle that makes sure I'm healthy and so far so good.
