LOE Phonograms App vs. Sound Literacy App for AAS/AAR

Ok I'm using AAR with my son and need a phonogram app as I didn't buy the tiles because I had intended to use the Sound Literacy App. I stumbled onto the Logic of English Phonogram app and I'm curious if anyone might be able to shed some light on how different they are. Using AAR/AAS I need to be able to pull down and use specific phonogram tiles. I just don't know if the LOE app will allow me enough flexibility. Anyone use the LOE app? I'd love some feedback on exactly how it operates.

We use the LOE app, although I am actually using WRTR as our curriculum. The phonograms are so similar that it has not been a problem. I haven't played around with it too much but I believe it is just quizzing on the phonograms (at least that is all we have used it for). So they will say a phonogram and you have to touch the one they say out of a group of 4. My ds4 is primarily the one using it and I think it is great for him. He is using the iPad so he thinks it is a game, but at the same time he is working on his phonograms without me being involved:) It keeps their score so you can monitor which ones they have mastered.

As far as the other app, I am not sure because I don't have that one.

Hope that helps!

We are doing OPGTR, but I plan on using a phonogram method for spelling someday and I think they are good to know, so I got the LOE app. My 4 and 2 year old really enjoy it and are learning a lot, so I certainly recommend it. I can't compare it to another, but I do know that it won't let you move the phonograms around and if that is what you are looking for, it won't work for you. It is pretty much a quizzing app that presents itself as a game and gives you stats on which ones your child is having trouble on.
