I'm hoping that my ALL CAPS grabs your attention!!!!

My husband is a volunteer fire fighter. He can go months without any calls, no medical, no car accidents, and no structure fires.

At 2am he left for the 1st house fire - house is completely lost. Everyone was safe.

At 11am second call came in garage fire - gutted. Everyone was safe.

On his way back to the hall to fill the air tanks, third call came in, cottage fire at the lake. His station was called as mutual aid. Everyone safe.

Now, he is at the fourth call for today - house fire. Everyone was safe.

I firmly believe that smoke detectors helped save the families in every single case.

Please check your smoke detectors, change the batteries and talk with your kids about how to escape in case of a fire. Every second counts.

Now, if you can all pray that hubby doesn't get any calls for the rest of March Break. He seriously is dead tired, and tired firemen make mistakes, and nobody wants that! I actually had to ask hubby if there was an arsonist around and he said no. Faulty wiring, bad furnaces and neglected pots on stoves were the only things I had to be worrying about. He knows how my CSI tendencies run! LOL

What online/ free resources will you use to talk about fire safety with your children?

Wow! That's a lot of action in one day!! I pray your dh stays safe.

We had a tenant who had a house fire and we know for a fact that the alarm saved her son's life. She was in the basement and heard the alarm. She ran upstairs and the entire living room was engulfed in flames. Her baby was sleeping in his carseat right by the flames. They got out fine. That fire raged through the house and even burned the two houses next door within SECONDS. The firefighters said it only burned for about 10 minutes. SCARY!!!!

We went out the next day and bought an insane number of alarms for our current house.
