LifeLovePassion
What kinds of goodies should I look for? Any new homeschool uses for items they sell? :)
Mom0012
The main thing I like from Ikea are the Billy bookcases, but those aren't anything new.
prairiewindmomma
Jealous! We are missing our annual pilgrimage this year.... Pinterest has entire pinboards dedicated to the topic. On my shopping list: Ribba picture ledges Trofast system for workboxes any of the Bygel or Fintorp stuff desks....still working on the configuration so I'm not sure which I'd pick... toawh
My kids love the MALA easel. The little one, 18 months, draws while the others do school and the older ones use it for art and some copy work, spelling, and pre-writing activities. The LILLABO train track has also been a school time saver. My middle son played with it for hours as a toddler and now the youngest does the same. They also have some nice art supplies -- decent quality for a fair price. Oh, and the bibs that are long sleeved -- AWESOME.
KungFuPanda
You know they have a sewing section now. Right? Lots of cute, cheap fabric and an inexpensive little sewing machine.
Dandelion
Can't believe I still haven't gone to the IKEA near us (there's one an hour away in Denver). The last time I went was in Germany in the '80's. It was awesome then - I'm sure the awesomeness quotient is even higher now. Getting lots of good ideas here for when I finally make my pilgrimage! :driving: Have fun OP! :)
LifeLovePassion
Thanks, ladies! I'll look those up. We are going on Saturday so I have time to plan! And sewing section, I may need more time than I am planning!
KungFuPanda
Well, as fabric selections go, it's probably smaller than Walmart's, but I'm happy it exists :-) I totally get how annoying it is to have to drive really far to get to Ikea. Sometimes, when the Ikea that is 15 minutes from me is out of something, I am forced to drive 25 minutes in the other direction to get to the far away one. It's rough. Beth S
A fellow WTMer has been posting photos of their basement re-do, with 15 beautiful Billy bookcases. It is stunning. http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/450975-just-had-15-bookcases-delivered-shelves-finished-131/
renmew
Ditto the easel. I got my youngest one for Christmas, and all three kids are loving it!
MomtoCandJ
I'm trying to convince dh to drive about 4 hours one way to go to one :)
