Joanne
I posted a thread recently about not waiting for debt to be paid to fund retirement. I believe strongly in my situation that I needed to start. So, I enrolled in my main job's Roth IRA. One of my other jobs also has a retirement (a teacher's fund). I can't tell you how good it feels to be doing something about it.

speedmom4
Congrats! I also do not agree with the principal of waiting to save or retirement until all debt (besides mortgage) is paid. People lose valuable time. Good luck! Elise in NC

People lose valuable time. Good luck! Elise in NC There is a caveat to the principal that is not usually remembered. Dave Ramsey recommends this IF you can pay off your debt within 2 years. Not for years and years on end.

Mergath
Yay! :) Dh was just able to start putting money into his retirement this past year, and it's a good feeling. (And he's forty-two, so it's not like he's just starting out in life.)

Chris in VA
You made me think of that scene in It's a Wonderful Life where they put two dollars in the vault and tell them to make babies...:-) Good for you!
Alessandra
That's a difficult step to make in your situation (as I understand it), but a wise one. You are such an inspiration in the way you face reality head-on. I think I should start printing your posts and taping them to my walls, lol!
