jen3kids
One of our cats is 1.5 years old. Her gums are red and her breath is awful.. The vet checked her for some bacterial infection - negative. So she gave us some blue gel stuff to give her each day. It is not working. What else can we do? We certainly don't want to have to have her teeth removed - that would be awful, not to mention $$$$$
Guest inoubliable
I wasn't sure what to suggest so I googled and found this: http://www.squidoo.com/stomatitis-in-cats I'd take her back to the vet and maybe ask about changing her food. :( I hope you can figure out something soon! Reflections
I personally, would push for some sort of antibiotic at a different vet. My cats have had this and they were given antibiotics just to be safe and each time it helped.

She and our other cat are currently on gastro-intestinal food because they got wicked diarrhea with regular food. I'm leery of changing their food. They get wet and dried food. I personally, would push for some sort of antibiotic at a different vet. My cats have had this and they were given antibiotics just to be safe and each time it helped. That is an option. She goes back for a checkup next week, so I'll ask then. They did do a blood test to rule out a specific bacteria.
