Um_2_4
So I have red snapper in the freezer, I don't like fish, so no recipe sounds appealing. This is for DH and the kids (who like fish). They don't like cream sauces though and prefer non-fried (can u fry snapper??? lol, I am fish ignorant). I have rice, couscous, potatotes for sides along with salad. Oh and I have brussel sprouts. I have the usual in the frig (onion, tomato, etc) and pantry (WW flour, tomato paste, etc). I would love something NOT chinese (I cook that a lot) or italian flavored (DH's not big on italian). So what you got??? :lurk5:
Deb in NZ
I like to put sliced lemons in the cavity, lay the snapper on a bed of sliced onions & top with a bit of butter & garlic. Bake in the oven (~350F) until done. Time depends on how big your fish is. I like a side of rice & peas, but dh prefers boiled potatoes & steamed greens. We consider it a lucky day when ds#2 brings home snapper for dinner after a day's fishing. And Yes, you can fry snapper.
paulasue
I've use this Red Snapper recipe from Paula Deen. The Worcestershire sauce adds a little different flavor. We like it for something different. I've used it with other white fishes. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/cant-miss-red-snapper-recipe/index.html

extendedforecast
I like it blackened. I mix blackening and salt seasoning with a little olive oil and brush it on the fillets. The easiest way for me to cook it is on a rectangular cast iron grill (the ones that cover two burners) over medium heat. For some reason, I don't mind the cleanup. I cook salmon this way too. And I too do not like fried seafood, but once my DH's aunt fried snapper and it was amazing.
