chest pain, questions

So, today I had an episode of stabbing pain that lasted less than 10 seconds. This is the second time in two weeks. It was smack in the middle of my chest and internal. I don't drink or smoke. I don't have high blood pressure or high cholesterol. I rarely have digestive issues. I am not technically overweight. I may have had rheumatic fever 20 years ago. Should I be worried? (I already am a little) Dh is inclined to think it is stress related. I've never had this kind of reaction to stress before.

I hate going to the doctor and haven't been in 2 years.

What would you do? Could it be stress?

Also look up esophageal spasms. They can feel like sudden, severe chest pain.

I've had esophageal spasms while eating or drinking. I couldn't even swallow water. It was amazingly painful. I was very frightened that I was going to suffocate to death until my dh yelled at me to breathe through my nose!

Magnesium helps esophageal spasms.
