Yep! Right there with you. I took a chance and bought him something for his electric bass, but I'm sure he'll take it back because it's not the right one. Sigh... The items he wants are so very, very specific and he refuses to give me a list.

One year I got him a Leatherman and that was a hit. Oh, and one year I got him a tool belt and he liked that as well.

Do you guys have a Roku player? Hubby loves ours because he watches all kind of old war movies, etc. on Netflix and Amazon Prime. How about a magazine subscription, a gift that goes on all year. A page a day calender? My DH looks forward to getting Dilbert every year. A gift certificate to Amazon/Lowes/Home Depot/Hobby Store so he can pick out the perfect thing?

Here's men's gifts from Paper Source (goofy stuff): http://www.paper-sou...ts-for-him.html

hth :)

This would be perfect. When he cooks with me, it drives him crazy that I just pour in stuff and don't always follow the recipe when I bother to use one. I think he would truly use this:

It's clothes, but...

Yes! I have gone the funny shirt route, though, last year in fact. He still wears the periodic table "Bacon" shirt, and a Japanese one I found and his Universitasis Wikipedius shirt is a big hit. Usually he puts a sweater or button shirt over the tees, so only family gets to revel in those...

Some days, this would suit him:

So many great ideas, thanks! He's into large model helicopters, which are dangerous, big and expensive and too specific to really buy for him. He's already agreed that in a few years he'll be doing some rocketry with our boys, so I'm glad to have that site you quoted.

The microcamera thingie is a possibility, though we're a mac family so I might have to look for one that works better with Mac, according to the reviews.

Thanks again!

A magazine is not a bad idea at all! I've been wanting Wired, maybe I'll get it "for him". ;-)

We have and love (too much) our Apple TV, which is like a roku, so you have him pegged there, too.

My have-everything-techie-dh wants a slackline set for Christmas. He thinks it would be fun to learn and to do with the kids.

WHOA!

I had never heard of that and so spent a few minutes staring at YouTube videos.

That is a distinct possibility, especially since we can bop over to REI and pick one up directly. And then I can post their videos on facebook... <evil laugh>

I've been admiring those for some time, along with mugs with grid design. Not because I'm an obsessive when I cook but because I really, really like graph paper.

If you don't have one, he also might like a digital kitchen scale.

You might look around at Marbles Brain Store.
