lynn
I found dh a really great poster for him to hang in his workshop, it came in a pvc pipe and I thought for sure I had a box to fit it. Well, I don't, the tube is to long. Any creative ideas on wrapping this so he can't even guess what it might be?
Impish
I'd hit your local appliance dealer, see if they have a box that would work.
Eagle
Take a picture of it, creatively wrap the photo. Then bring out the real one once he's opened the mini version.
astrid
Or use the poster as a wrapping? Maybe find something small for a dc that will fit in the tube, inside the rolled poster (which I assume expands and hugs the interior walls of the tube?) So get something long and slender (a big SlimJim?) and put it in the tube. Attach a cute gift tag on a long ribbon to the inside of the tube (behind poster) and to the end of the Slim Jim. Shove Slim Jim and long ribbon into tube, wrap as normal, and address it to a dc. So dc opens the gift, out falls the slim and the long ribbon attaching it to another gift tag, and telling him to hand off the tube to dh. Who then finds the poster and you all sing and be merry. Just a thought---- astrid
Unicorn.
Get two (or 3 or 4 if needed) shoe boxes, cut one end off of each one, duct tape them together to make a long box. Or get some cardboard (you can get boxes at home depot cheap if you need too), and cut it up to make your own box.
KidsHappen
Depending on how long it is you can buy a heavy duty round cardboard tube that is usually used to send art prints.
HollyDay
cut various boxes to fit the size you need. Then put various nuts and bolts inside a small jewelry box. Tape the small box that rattles to the wrapping box then wrap. Now, you have a sound as well as a shape disguise
