Shelly in VA
Does anyone have suggestions for a single semester cultural geography course? Dd is interested in this, and while she may end up taking this dual enrollment at the local community college, I would imagine there are great resources she could use at home, without me shelling out the $$ to the cc. :) (She has taken some courses there, and we've been happy with them, but I'm looking for options.) If it helps, the course description that caught her eye included the following phrases: "Presents a survey of modern demographics, landscape modification, material and non-material culture, language, race and ethnicity, religion, politics and economic activities. Introduces the student to types and uses of maps." I am strictly looking for cultural, not physical, geography. She has a decent background in physical geography, although map work would be good for her. Thanks! Shelly
HollyDay
We chose PAC World Cultural Geography. It contains 6 worktexts. You could do it in a semester
Joan in GE
According to Wikipedia, Cultural Geography is a subset of Human Geography.... So you might want to look at the books used for AP Human Geography on the College Board website....or search the boards for Human Geography.... Shelly in VA
Thank you! Searching. :) Regarding the DeBlij book - did you use the text and the study guide, or did you just work through the text?
