ksr5377
My goddaughter will be celebrating her first Christmas as a married woman this year, and her DH has been deployed to Afghanistan for 100 days today. So she'll be alone, a few states away. I'm looking for something, maybe even just the right words, to let her know that I'm thinking of her and proud of her and DH and wanting to somehow make it easier for her. I know that's a lot to ask for from a Christmas gift. Any ideas would be welcome. It's just recently my family has had anyone in it in the military, so it's not something we're used to dealing with. Freckles
My husband was deployed twice. It is a very hard and lonely time. I would have loved a card with gift certificates to a day spa. The physical touch of facials, manicures, pedicures, massages, or hair styling is good for the soul if she is deprived of family connections. Any recognition of her and her husbands sacrifice is so appreciated. Other suggestions might include.... one time deep cleaning maid service, a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant, or cozy throw blanket and new dvd to make her laugh. I hope you find just the right thing to lift her spirits.
Mrs Mungo
I agree with Freckles: funny movies, a gift card for books, a spa gift card (for mani/pedi or massage), a cleaning service, restaurant gift cards, anything that is a bright spot.
