Chelli
My youngest dd just threw up on our living room carpet. While most of it made it in the puke pan, quite a bit missed. Will using vinegar and hot water on the carpet and couch cause any fading issues? Thanks in advance.
RoughCollie
Try it on a small part of the carpet and couch that aren't visible -- just put some of the solution on there, wait 5 minutes, and blot (not rub) it off with a white towel, washcloth or even a paper towel. If there is no color transfer, you are in luck! The key is to blot, not rub, and you may have to do it more than once. Another tip, to help with cleanup in the beginning, is to use a cheap dollar store spatula (pancake turner) that has no holes in it to clean up the original mess. Dedicate that spatula only for that purpose; rinse it and wash it in the dishwasher.
Chelli
Thanks so much! I just wanted to make sure and get that smell out of the carpet and the couch. Blech.
Cindy in FL.
I do this all the time with no problem. I have light colored carpet if that makes a difference. I do like not using harsh chemicals.
Myra
Can you use vinegar and water in a upright carpet cleaner? If so, what ratio of vinegar to water do you use? Thanks!
Cindy in FL.
I just use the same amount of vinegar as you would cleaner. My machine has a line for how much to put in. Can you use vinegar and water in a upright carpet cleaner? If so, what ratio of vinegar to water do you use? Thanks!
