StaceyinLA
We bought ours Sunday, and brought it in last night. I put lights on it, but we won't decorate til all the kids come over this weekend. I have almost all of my gifts wrapped (just waiting on a few handmade ones to arrive), and most of my stocking stuffers wrapped too. I've never had things done this early, but we have that little grand baby coming, and I wanted to be finished early. How about you?
Big Buckin' Longhorn
Tree is up and decorated. Outside lights are going up this weekend. I hate wrapping gifts. I'm not sure when that will happen, LOL.
thescrappyhomeschooler
We put ours up and decorated on Sunday- It's an artificial tree. I don't have many gifts this year, but we have Chanukah first, so I need to get going on that.
TraciWA
Hoping to put ours up this weekend. We spend Thanksgiving weekend with the ILs and put their tree up for them then but by the time we get home there is usually no time to put ours up. MomtoCandJ
We put ours up Monday. We don't have anything for outside yet but dmil is supposed to give us some lights for outside.
laughing lioness
US! We found a terrific deal on Craigslist for a fake tree- 1/5 the price of Menards and it's beautiful! Put ornaments on last night. Lights on outside...dh is an addict. We also decorate a couple of alpine trees- our cowboy themed one is finished. Above the window trim we put garland and tuck mini snowmen in...now to get all of the boxes and clutter picked up and put away!
sbgrace
We moved this fall and right now we're living in 900 SF from twice that before we moved. I am feeling sad because I really don't think I have room for a tree this year. Everywhere I can think to put it would be in the way of boy play, eating, a bookcase, etc. So no tree yet here sadly. Beth in TN
Our tree is up and decorated. My DD19 & her BF did it over the weekend. I'll be spending the rest of month making more decorations with my littles (4,2&1) to add to the tree.
Kathryn
Bought and decorated on Saturday!
Impish
Not yet. Hoping my friend M will be able to help Wolf put it together when work eases up a bit. (If M comes and helps Wolf, it becomes a 'manly man' thing, complete w/ignoring instructions, grunting, and who knows what. If he doesn't, somehow Diva and I get stuck doing it, so it's worth it to me to wait and see!)
QuirkyKidAcademy
The tree is up. Lights only. Still trying to find the motivation for garland and decorations.....and the angel. Gotta find the angel for the top.
Ellie
We always put up the tree and decorate on Thanksgiving weekend. Then we can enjoy all the decorations for the rest of the month. :-) We don't put presents under the tree until Christmas Eve, though...bad experiences with pets... Mama Geek
I put our little artificial tree up Monday and we will decorate it probably this weekend when dh is off.
tabrizia
I think we'll put ours up this weekend, if not next weekend.
jenangelcat
Not until next Sunday. We get real and I don't want it up too early.

coralloyd
Ours is up. We always put it up the day after Thanksgiving and decorate the the rest of the house. Last night my dh and I wrapped all the gifts. The kids were so shocked to see them under the tree this morning. I am giving a big Christmas party for all my dh's employees,so it feels really good to have that all out of the way.
GailV
I just brought the stand and artificial tree up from the basement about 5 minutes ago. It is the first thing I've accomplished this week that hasn't involved dealing with people I'd like to call a dirty-diaper-pants-poop-head, so I'm feeling triumphant and basking in the glow while eating a cookie. We usually put it up day after Thanksgiving, but there've been too many of the aforementioned D.D.P.P.H.s this week.
TammyinTN
Ours is up and the house is completely decorated. About 90% of packages purchased, wrapped and under the tree.
ChristineW
We went to the tree farm and cut down our tree on Sunday. We then decorated it and drank hot chocolate while listening to Christmas music. It was awesome. Advent starts Sunday and I have the candles ready along with the Playmobil nativity. We have a baby due over the holidays so I'm trying to get everything done early just in case--ie. 90% of presents bought, half of those are wrapped, stocking stuffers purchased for all but the grown ups, etc.
Momof3littles
Bought and decorated on Saturday! Same here. Cut it down, hauled it home, decorated it. DH did the outside of the house on Sunday.
gardenmom5
tree is up. lights and branches are fixed. ornaments have started going on.
TexasRachel
Ours has been up a few days. I love having the tree up but I wish we had waited. DS5 thinks that means Christmas is tomorrow. Everyday. And DS2 wants to play with it constantly. I'm starting to see why my dad wouldn't let us put up the tree until the first Monday in December growing up. Giraffe
Ours is going up this weekend or Monday next week. I think I may go a little nuts and put some lights in the windows (we live in a high-rise apartment building).
Wheres Toto
Ours is up and decorated. We put it up last Friday while my oldest was home from college since she wanted to help decorate. We have a pre-lit artificial tree since it occurred to us a few years ago that ds is evidently allergic to real trees. We are waiting on deliveries and should have some wrapped gifts for outside family under there soon. We do Santa so none of the kids gifts will show up before Christmas morning. Belacqua
You all are making me feel Scroogy. I won't even consider a tree until the 15th. And that's a compromise; my argument of, "We live in the woods! We have all the trees we want just outside the door!" gets me nowhere. Forget-Me-Not
DH and the kids put up ours over the weekend (artificial), as well as some decorations. I still had Halloween (Halloween, not just fall!) decorations that needed to be put away LOL. This holiday business is tough in late pregnancy! In the Rain
We did ours the day after Thanksgiving. I've wrapped most of the gifts, but I didn't put them under the tree. I thought it might get "boring" to look at them for a month. Now the kids still have plenty of time to wonder what their packages will look like. Elinor Everywhere
We usually buy and set ours up on Thanksgiving weekend, but this year Thanksgiving was so dang early I just couldn't get into it. Plus, it's unseasonably warm here (upper 70s/low 80s) so that doesn't help. Scrooge!!
Guest inoubliable
We do. We always put up our tree on the day after Thanksgiving. We used to go out and chop down our own at a local farm. Every year, we've gotten progressively smaller and easier. Now? We have an itty bitty Target table-top tree. In white. 5 mins to arrange the "branches", 20 mins for the kids to decorate. It looks fantastic.
Mimm
Tree is up but gifts are not all wrapped or even bought. You are doing good this year. :)
SKL
Our tree is always up. One less thing to worry about!
kateincali
I wait till closer to Christmas to put a tree up. But i must admit that the smell of the fresh cut trees, every time i pass them at the store, is just calling me to put it up sooner! I can never resist the smell. Guess that come from living in the desert.
SunnyDays
I'm not majorly into the Christmas spirit this year, and I tried to suggest the three foot, on the table tree. I was outvoted. :tongue_smilie: Our tree went up this weekend (we always do artificial), and I put just a few decorations around the living room and a wreath on the door. We're going low key this year, but the tree does look nice now that it's up. We're doing very few gifts this year since DS wanted something expensive, so I'm just going to wait and wrap things probably the weekend before Christmas. The gifts for the three of us are bought, except for a pack of i-tunes gift cards. I just have to shop for the nieces and nephews, then I'm done. StaceyinLA
Oh gosh I just LOVE the smell!! I tried to talk dh into an artificial in the past because I like to put it up early and I like a LOT of lights on it, but I was vetoed, and I'm glad; I love the fresh. I do tend to take mine down very soon after Christmas though, so putting it up early allows us to enjoy it for a while!
PinkInTheBlue
Our tree went up and decorated the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I put out a little bit of our outdoor stuff this afternoon and if I can get over to Lowe's tomorrow, I'd like to put the rest up then. I love it! We also decorated some permafrost gingerbread men day before yesterday because I thought we might enjoy that more than the house. I think I was wrong. I'm going to get a house to do in a couple of weeks.
cloversandlions
We bought our tree two days ago; it's up tonight but won't be decorated until tomorrow night or this weekend. It's huge! Costco trees are supposed to be 7-8', but this thing is nearly double my 5' height. My kids are o.v.e.r.j.o.y.e.d with our big tree, lol!
