Runningmom80
Just wondering if there are ever deals, or of it's like apple products and the price doesn't fluctuate.
gingersmom
They just announced the new kindles so there might be deals on the old ones.
bzymom
They do run deals on them. I know when I bought mine it was on sale, though I can't remember the price! Kindle Fire prices dropped today as a new one was released, if you are interested!
chicagoshannon
They just knocked $40 off of the kindle fires.
gingersmom
They just knocked $40 off of the kindle fires. Really? I thought they were sold out long ago.
xixstar
I saw them listed at $79 on amazon recently, just a side ad, and was surprised. That is half the price of when I bought my nook and I think that was still lower than list price since I got it from a friend.
frugalmama
Black Friday is a good time, if you're willing to wait that long. I got mine {regular kindle 3g with keyboard} for about $60 last year after a coupon and a BF deal.
emcap
Every couple weeks Walmart has $30 off the $79 kindle. Staples has had something off the others, but I don't remember how much. Both give the money off back on a gift card though, but I dont mind that.
Runningmom80
Thanks everyone! It's a Christmas gift, so I can wait until black Friday, but I refuse to go into a store that day, are they online deals?

nmoira
Really? I thought they were sold out long ago. New ones announced today. The new entry-level Fire is a bit beefier than the old ones, and cheaper. *All* the new Fires are ad-supported.
emcap
Where does one hear about such deals? I just check the ads online on Sunday. It's usually some little insignificant sidebar thing.
Running the race
Where does one hear about such deals? I've found the site bfads.net to be helpful year-round, but especially for black Friday.
Mom in High Heels
Thanks everyone! It's a Christmas gift, so I can wait until black Friday, but I refuse to go into a store that day, are they online deals? Just know that they often sell out and get back ordered 6-8 weeks, so it might not arrive in time for Christmas. ETA: The regular Kindles (with ads) are now $69. That's a great price! I have a Kindle Keyboard, but I'm thinking of upgrading to the new paperwhite 3G. I like the new front lighting, which eliminates the need for an external light. A lot of people are already griping that the new paperwhites don't have speakers, which means you can't use text to speech (which is bloody awful to be honest) or listen to audio books. Personally, if I want an audio book, I'll put it in my iphone, but I very, very rarely listen to books anyway, so I don't really care. I'm going to order it now so I don't have to worry about it in December.
