South Carolina & taxes, can someone explain it?

Recommended Posts

State income tax is 7% less a certain amount to account for lower brackets leading up to that. The only extra local taxes I know of are when they add 1% to sales tax for road projects, etc. We pay property taxes on vehicles (county), and you get to pay 4% on a set amount for your home if you are a resident (6% if you are not, also county).

try sctax.org for more info.
