Mom-ninja.
Is there a German site that teaches letter sounds? Or German DVDs similar to LeapFrog?

Guest angelanadine
I've been looking for a German Starfall site for years now. Nothing. For what it's worth, my experience has been that it works quite easily to teach reading in English and then start reading German books when reading is already established, as the pronunciation is easier than reading in English. pmeilaen
This is probably not what you are looking for, but here are a frew pronunciation/vocab videos.

Mom-ninja.
Yeah, I wish! My BIL is always sending us stuff, but it's all too difficult at this point. My cousin sent me the books that her dd used in school (in Germany) the teacher used to teach reading. I really like them. It would just be great to have something like the Leapfrog dvds in German. eloquacious
Could you tell me the titles? My BIL has access to whatever and sends us catalogs, but it's pretty hard to pick stuff out that way. Ditto! I'm currently in Germany and could pick some up! eloquacious
Here's one Lesefibel. Is this it? http://www.cornelsen.de/mgl/1.c.1450435.de Of course there are some cool vintage ones on Google Books, but they have the old German script that no kid today could read! stripe
I wonder....One of the founders of Multilingual Living teaches her kids German, and she has a pinterest board at http://pinterest.com/museofthemorn/learning-german-with-kiddos/ which includes this one, I don't know German, but it looks interesting http://www.lernerfolg.de/de/startseite.html but so do many of the others
Mom-ninja.
but it looks interesting http://www.lernerfolg.de/de/startseite.html but so do many of the others Gonna check it out. Thanks. I really am supposed to be doing lessons with the boys right now..... Here's what my cousin's dd used in her school and she sent to me. It is very basic and simple and we've skipped some sections, but my kids are getting much better at reading. It goes up in levels.
stripe
Too bad...What about the other ones she has ?
eloquacious
I found what looks to be some cool German books for foreign students in Germany, Spielend Deutsch Lernen, on Amazon.de. Might buy a few of those before we leave here... But they're still too much reading. I was hoping to do it more orally first.
Storm Bay
My husband said maybe he needs to write some beginning German learning books for kids. I said I am sure he'd have some interest in that. ;) OT after checking out the links here. Is your siggy your age???? I used to feel that way in my early 40s until someone told me that she celebrated every birthday as if she were turning 9 so that her kids wouldn't worry about age. I do this with weight, so I started doing this. I no longer feel badly about my age, but celebrate being alive as well. :) :) :)
4KookieKids
I wonder....One of the founders of Multilingual Living teaches her kids German, and she has a pinterest board at http://pinterest.com...an-with-kiddos/ which includes this one, I don't know German, but it looks interesting http://www.lernerfol...tartseite.html but so do many of the others Has anyone tried this with their kids in the four months since this came up? I'm interested in hearing how it went, if so. My son *loves* his "computer games", and thought it could be fun. But I'd like to hear if people thought it was worth the money first, maybe.
