mystika1
http://www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/u-s-geography I would like to cover U.S. Geography and have my dd learn the states and capitals. I am trying to decide on on this or using Elemental History and expand on it to cover states and capitals. Anyone use this? Recommendations??? Mom2OandE
I am using it this year as my jumping off point. In fact I just spent the day putting the binders together. My plan is to cover the states and the regional reviews and have the kids make a travel guide of sorts. In addition to doing state reports with all the facts I'm going to have them research intresting things about the states to be included, most likely on the post cards that come with it. I will add additional activities as needed. I purchased a few games, puzzles and flashcards as well. I want the kids to get a really good feel for our country as well as some of our history which I'll be supplementing with living books. We plan to do a few small road trips and maybe one big one this year as well. My goal at the end of the year is for them to know states and capitals as well as the Presidents.
