I talk to the trees
My pup has passed his Canine Good Citizen test! He is such a friendly boy, and I am seriously considering doing some therapy dog work with him. I'd really like to do nursing homes. My grandfather *adored* his dogs, and it broke my heart that his last few months in the nursing home were spent without the companions he held so dear. We still have to get through the TDI test, but I'm just tickled pink that he passed the CGC. On a sad note, though, my mother called a couple of days ago to tell me that they had to put their 13 year old sheltie down. He was the first dog in our family to pass the CGC. He helped my daughter learn to walk by walking ever so slowly while she balanced on him. He kept watch over my grandparents (they lived with my parents) as they became increasingly frail. And he was a faithful companion to my parents. Connor, you were one in a million, and you will be so missed by so many!
speedmom4
Congrats!! I absolutely adore dogs as well. Our 13-year-old pit bull mix has been the best family dog. She always watched over our children when they were young as they played in the yard. We nicknamed her "NaNa" from Peter Pan because she has that kind of temperament. She's not doing too well right now and we are cherishing every day that we have with her. Love hearing great dog stories! God Bless, Elise in NC
