Crafty Mathy Mom
My oldest has been in Rod and Staff since third grade. She and I are burned out. She's on chapter 3 of the 7th grade book now. I plan on her finishing the book over the summer. I want to focus on writing for 8th grade. We use TOG, so we'll do more of the Writing Aids assignments. She will also be doing Literary Lessons from Lord of the Rings in co-op in the fall. I'm tentatively planning on using AG for high school grammar. Is this a decent plan? Is there anything in the 8th grade R & S that we need to cover?
MamaBear
I am sorry I don't have any advice to offer. Your post caught my eye because we are in a similar situation. We are in our 4th year of R&S English and I am researching other options. I worry about changing to another program and if there would be something missed in making a change. I hope you will receive some feedback and I pray you will find what will work for you and your dd. Blessings,
Parrothead
Have you looked at Analytical Grammar? It can be done in one year or over the course of a couple/few years.

Matryoshka
How about a break for MCT? The Voyage Grammar book is a quick read (few weeks?) and probably mostly review (but good to go through if you've never done MCT to get used to that program's parsing method), then for the rest of the year just do Practice Voyage - parse 4 sentences a week and you're good. The 4-level analysis is great because you have to use everything you know on every sentence.
