We are a navy family living at Naval Base Kitsap in Silverdale. This will be only our second year hs-ing. DD -7 (going into 3rd), DD - 5 (going into K), DS - 4. (still trying to spell his three letter name), DD - 18 months

 

I would love to meet other families hs-ing in the area.

I live about 45 minutes south of you in Shelton. There are a lot of resources here in WA. There is a thread on the networking board for those here in WA: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1664

 

There is the Washington Homeschool Organization, aka WHO(they are GREAT!): http://www.washhomeschool.org/index.html

 

WHO has a link to several homeschool support groups here in WA. I've been thinking about getting involved with this one that is close to us... haven't contacted them yet though.

We belong to a "Keepers" group here, but nowhere as organized as that one. :) It looks great.

Do you pay the annual fee to WHO? What do you get in return?

No I haven't joined yet. I plan to though. As a member you get free entrance into the annual WHO homeschool convention they have. Not sure what else. But they are HS advocates in our state, watching legislation and stuff. So it's good to support that. You also get a discount for HSLDA membership. Have you heard of HSLDA?
