Jann in TX
Fortunately for the bunny it was not injured. Lets say that other 'evidence' shows that its sibling was not so fortunate... Bunny is too small to release. Teeth are just starting to poke through-- it is TINY. I've successfully raised cotton tails (from previous 'gifts') that were even smaller than this one... so I know the routine. I'll evaluate it later to see if it needs bottle feeding (actually I'd use a syringe). It is cuddled in a cat-carrier in our guest room (I have a heated rice-filled sock and some old towels for it to burrow into). I'll try to take a picture--but do not want to handle it too much. Hopefully it will be ready to release next week. Our current bunny population is low due to the severe drought we've had the past 2 years. Now the drought is over it will not take long for the rabbit population to explode again! -- Our county wildlife rescue told me to just care for it myself (since I've done it before with their help) or to let it go and 'forget about it' -- giving it no chance at all... Liz CA
Oh my! I usually got dead mice on my doorstep. It would have been nicer to find a living bunny...:001_smile:
