JFSinIL
She has been accepted into one of our select high school academies for gifted students. Each of our five mega-big public high schools (we are in a district of over 40,000 students!) has an academy that accepts only 50 freshman a year. The kids stay together in their small group for all four years for most classes (honors, etc.) then take their p.e., etc with the larger pool of kids. Jean was accepted into the Foreign Language Academy and will get six years of Spanish in four years...and three weeks in Spain the summer of her Jr. year. This is a kid I pulled out to homeschool when her first grade teacher said she would have to repeat first grade!
Cathy in IL
Excellent! Congratulations. I am sure you are both proud of your accomplishments. Has the snow started falling at your house yet? My kids are looking forward to the big one that should come tonight and eagerly watching the flurries outside right now.

Tracey in TX
Congrats to dd! That's a huge accomplishment! Did she get accepted into the IB program? Lots of college credit for high school classes :) (Our babysitter graduated high school with 35 college credits.)
