LoriM
I didn't know if any of you were familiar with Saxon's new middle grades series (Saxon Math Courses 1, 2 and 3 for grades 6, 7 and 8), but I did want to let you know I'm in the middle of reviewing it for my new job. So I'll let you know. GRIN. Hey, and in case you missed it, I did post an "update on my life" over on the general board a couple of days ago... http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35564&highlight=Update+life
langfam
Is it in the same format? Jumping from topic to topic? Or does it present it in a more traditional manner where topics are covered chapter by chapter? Thanks!
FloridaLisa
I really missed your voice on the board. Your new position sounds wonderful. How very fortunate those students will be to have you for a teacher. I've had a CC math question I've been mulling over a bit, so I'll try to post it separately so as not to tie up this thread. Many blessings! Welcome back! Lisa
BeckyFL
I had no idea they were doing this. I just looked at the materials and they are very very different - yes? I don't know that I like it, at least that's my initial reaction. It looks like it is very classroom oriented and I hope it hasn't been dumbed down at all. I'm really looking forward to the review. Thanks for posting this. Oh... the other question that I have is how will the levels compare with the older levels? For instance, my son will be doing 7/6 this coming year. After that I had intended to move him into Pre-algebra. It's hard to tell what these new levels are. Thanks so much!
