Remudamom
Mary Stewart trilogy, first book is The Crystal Cave. It's been a while but I remember liking it. Not as good as The Mists of Avalon though, you really should finish it.
Catherine
I loved The Once and Future King.
MeaganS
The Once and Future King is one of my husband's top 5 books of all, so I'd probably recommend it.
AdventureMoms
I second the Mary Stewart series. Or the Steven R Lawhead one (The Pendragon Cycle, I think). If you enjoy the female perspective (like in Mists) try The Child Queen and The High Queen by Nancy McKenzie. They are not as well written as Mists, though. Mommyfaithe
I loved The Once and Future King. :grouphug: this was the one I was going to suggest. that and Tennyson's Idylls of the King.
Night Elf
I made it about halfway through Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon this past summer and Loved It. For some unknown reason though, I put the book down and never finished it (maybe it had to be returned to the library) . Now the thought of starting the 800 page book from the beginning is depressing. What are the other Arthurian legend books written for grown-ups? I mean, I know there are probably a million, but I want the really, really good ones. Any recs from the Hive? :bigear: Oh, do read Bradley's book. It was FABULOUS! Well, IMHO. I highly recommend it.

TheHomeScientist
Jack Whyte's Camulod Chronicles series, which is written as straight historical fiction rather than fantasy.
ThreeBlessings
Another recommendation to finish Mists of Avalon. It's one of my all time favs. Can't you just rifle through the book a bit and start just a little before where you think you left off? I've done this before with books I've set down for whatever reason.
Matryoshka
I loved both The Once and Future King and Mists of Avalon. I'm pretty sure I read at least a few of the Mary Stewart books, but they didn't stick with me as much.
