ThisIsTheDay
(Should kosher be capitalized?) I just finished The Kitchen Counter Cooking School, the best non-cooking book ever. Based on what I read, I bought kosher salt and had my family taste test it against our regular table salt. The kosher salt won, hands down. The table salt, in comparison, tastes so nasty that I never want to use it again. Can I use kosher salt in baking? Should I cut it down to half or ? Can I toss out my table salt completely and substitute kosher salt in everything, as long as I reduce the measurement? I highly recommend the book, btw! Forget-Me-Not
It does taste waaaay better. Try sea salt too. I love it for baking. The only problem with Kosher salt is that it doesn't work well in a salt shaker because it's flakes instead of granules.
