DKinTX
She's not supposed to wear any jewelry during practices or games, but her ears are too newly pierced to leave her earrings out. So, now what? Thanks!
Claire
As long as they're studs she should be okay. You can talk to her soccer coach about it too.
GothicGyrl
The same thing professionals do--tape. Buy some good sports tape, the kind that doesn't come off with sweat and put it over her ears. That will not only keep her earrings in place but it will minimize the risk of them being ripped out in a fall or something.
Tracey in TX
Many leagues will allow sports tape over the newly pierced earrings. Some, however, will not allow this. Find out what the rules are and encourage her to abide by them. I've seen a student have her earlobe ripped open. Definitely something every child wants to avoid! cin
I don't know how newly pierced they are, but if they are a week or more, I would think that taking the studs out for an hour or so would be ok. Think of it as a boo boo. They don't heal up quite that fast. Just clean and alcohol the area & the earrings really good before putting the earrings back in. My ears were getting infected so I took my studs out at 2 weeks to thoroughly clean the area. The holes didn't close up over the course of an hour. I ended up taking them out every day during my shower and soaking them in alcohol during that time. You can loosen the back on the studs a bit by just placing a knife or something relatively flat where the stud goes through and twisting it slightly. That makes it easier to take them off and on. I am NOT a doctor, so don't sue me if this doens't work :D
Carpe Diem
Here they won't allow it even at the 5 year old level even for posts. The refs check everyone over before the start of the game. This is the main reason we haven't pierced dd ears yet. She always thinks about it around her birthday, which is in the middle of soccer here. By the time the season ends her impulse to pierce passes!! Good luck.
momofkhm
They tell the coaches that at the beginning of the season and then no refs checked ears all season. And these teams were all girl teams! The year refs did check, I ended up with several pairs of earrings in my pocket. teh next time, I sent them to their parents.
