Tanya in KS
Already I am thinking about gardening. Never too soon to plan. I am not an avid gardener BUT I am willing to try something new this year for my family. We have GOT to make a change for our budget. SO I am planning on planting several dwarf fruit trees. Apple, pear, peach & cherry. Where is the best place to purchase??? We do not have any nurseries nearby thus I would have to mail order. Thanks in advance. bbkaren
I've bought from Stark Brothers; their customer service is top-notch, and they have a one-year forgiveness policy (i.e. I killed a couple of our trees, and they sent new ones free of charge). Fruit trees are a lot of care; there are lots of diseases and bugs to fuss with. Berry bushes are a fairly good option; blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, etc. But, if you're just starting out, why not start with something simple like tomatoes and peppers? :)
