How to dry winter boots?

Recommended Posts

My kids have been playing non stop in the snow. Unfortunately the insides of their winter boots are soaked. I have had them sitting in front of the wood stove for 1 1/2 days but the bottoms are still wet. We have a 4H thing tomorrow out in the woods and they'll need their boots. I'm guessing putting the boots in the dryer isn't a good idea. If worse comes to worse I'll have to do the plastic bag in the boots trick, but I really want to get them dry.

Any ideas? No vents working because the wood stove is on.

this is the very reason all of our winter boots MUST have removable liners. But before I made that rule, I would stuff wadded up newspaper inside the boots....it soaks up lots of water...just be sure to change it when the paper gets damp....and you would be surprised how much water gets soaked up. This method worked better than any hairdryer...I would usually end up over heating my blow dryer that way. Hope that helps.
