You know, the grammar, composition, sentence structure and writing essay? Final goal, CLEP the course. I know, I might be asking for a miracle, so let me :bigear: what you have to say. I know that they have intensive tutoring with native speakers where you learn to speak the language in a week or so. We're talking 8 hours a day where no English is allowed. They may also be able to supplement conversational language with written work. They may have recomendations to help you use their materials at home, also. Veronica in VA Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Warriner's might be a good choice. It is out of print, but Seton sells the textbooks and answer keys - and it's not expensive. Older editions are just fine ... there is Form A, B and C. Same book, just different sentence examples used. Any one is fine. Veronica in VA Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 I think the 3rd is intended for 9th grade, and the 4th for 10th, but I'm not completely sure. I used just the 3rd and spread it over 2 years. I don't think it probably matters too much which one to use, though I suspect the 4th might move a little quicker with grammar. Warriner's starts with the seventh grade so the First Course would be for Seventh Grade, Second Course for 8th, Third Course for 9th, Fourth Course for 10th, Fifth Course for 11th, and the Complete Course would be for 12th (or you could use this one book for high school going slowly through it over the years). I think the editions are by the years (1985, 1990, etc.). I actually own a 1950 something book. I remember using Warriner's when I was a sophomore in high school. That was a lonnnnnnnng time ago!!
