Writing curriculum covering steps of writing process

Ok, I posted looking for help with Write Source Level 2, but it doesn't look like too many people use that curriculum. So, I'm looking for a 2nd grade writing curriculum that covers the steps of the writing process.

Background: We just started WWE2. DD does dual enrollment in public charter but we do lang. arts at home. They are teaching steps of the writing process in what seems like a rather accelerated method for 2nd grade. I want her to have background in this in addition to the classical method in case she needs to re-integrate into the school curriculum, just to cover all our bases.

Can anyone recommend a writing curriculum that does this, provides small incremental practice, AND is easy to teach? :bigear: Thank you.

Surprisingly, we're enjoying Evan-Moor's "Daily 6-Trait Writing" at the First-Grade Level. I get it free because I have TeacherFileBox, but if you enjoy the idea of teaching incrementally, this book (and I'd imagine, it's 2nd grade counterpart) seems to do it quite nicely.

My dd has no writing experience, and so far, we have covered ideas like choosing a topic, making your topic better, adding details, etc. There are always opportunities to correct sentences and improve writing examples, as well as room for creativity. There are only 4 days of exercises; the 5th day is meant for free writing based on the week's exercises.

Also, if you wanted, you could easily do this in 2 days to make each lesson longer and more substantial than stretching it out over 5 days.

Thank you for this suggestion. Is this a book where you need to buy the teacher edition or can you just get the student workbook? (I'm getting rid of an EM Geography book I bought like this because I didn't like how the book had the teacher pages and student workbook intermingled together. It was impossible to reproduce). If you need to get the teacher edition, are the teacher pages at the front, student workbook pages at the back? How is it arranged? Thank you!

We did the Daily 6 Trait Writing by Evan Moor but it wasn't one of our favorite books by them. Maybe because writing is a topic my daughter excels in and it was too simple for us. We finished year 1 in a very short time and it was a forgettable experience with us. Others may have a great experience though, we do love some of their other books!

Write Source is one of the best resources I've found, but like you've probably noticed, it doesn't have the lessons chunked up easily. Winning With Writing is the program we've moved on to, with WS as a resource to look at further examples. WWW is incremental, easy to do, and doesn't take much time.

Thanks. Yes, I was leaning towards WWW after seeing the review on your blog. I'm not sure if she would be ready for Level 3 and I'm afraid Level 2 wouldn't provide the writing skills I'm looking for. My DD is not that great at writing so the EM workbook with all the visuals might be something that works well for her. I wish we could do WS because it seems to cover more closely what they're doing at school, but I don't feel like I can do it at a good pace and in a meaningful way without more direction. I just want to be more certain of what I'm picking this time. So far, I haven't had the experience of getting materials we don't use so I don't want to keep going in that direction.
