Sis and dds lost a beloved cat, she had it cremated and put it in a vase. Youngest dd kept getting her out to "play" with, and eventually ended up spilling her into the toy box. Oldest dd would have flipped, so sis substituted some sandy/ashy/whatever material and she never found out. I think Kitty ended up being vacuumed.
