funschooler5
Does anybody have this? http://rainbowresource.com/product/sku/020051/3cfa9b4f84fe8736941e0b3c Is it fun to play? I'm looking for a fun way to review history, and I thought this might be the way to go. I just want to make sure it's not going to be one of those games that sits on the shelf gathering dust. :001_smile:
Satori
I have it, but right now it's on the shelf gathering dust. ONLY because I wanted to have a chance to learn more than just Ancient History before we started playing it. I could show samples of what it's like if no one else answers though. Kuovonne
Here's an old review. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47634 This sounds interesting. I think that I'll try having my kids play this game using our timeline cards from our co-op. We've played "war" with our timeline cards (earliest card wins) but this sounds like so much more fun. reading
About how many cards are prehistory? A few, a bunch, a lot?
Satori
There are approximately five prehistory cards in each deck - Basic and Advanced, so about 10 total.

Satori
Coming back to add some photos because I just couldn't rest knowing I could help someone out. Peek a Boo's review was spot-on, right down to the huge, blue-smeared dice. I'm a total perfectionist, so would probably make my own dice that wasn't smeared. (It got blue on the the box the dice was stored in even.) Prehistory cards comprise approximately 5% of the deck (rough estimate). Total cards 200 (100 for each set). The fonts are different for each set, making it easy (along with the card color) to figure out which timeframe. The dates are on the back of the cards. I forgot to take a picture of that, but the backs aren't colorful or exciting. They're made of cardstock. I wish they were more glossy or laminated to hold up longer, but they will do. It's definitely not for my six year old yet, but definitely by age 9-10. You don't need to memorize dates, just be able to put them in order sequentially. With all the timeline focus we have at our house, this game will put a new priority on familiarizing with the timelines we have! You can also make your own timeline cards with their template. Well worth the $22.95 from Rainbow Resource! Edited August 23, 2011 by Satori
reading
Wow! Thanks so much for all the info and for posting the pictures. When I first considered buying it, I could hardly find any pictures. Now I finally get to see some cards close-up! Looks good! Thanks again!
