Beth in Central TX
Hello, Has anyone had a child sit for the Duke TIP EXPLORE testing? If so, how long did it take to get the results back? I've looked on the Duke TIP website, but I can't find a timeframe. DS took the EXPLORE test this past Saturday, and he is very curious when he will find out how he did. He thinks he did very well, and it "seemed easy" for an 8th grade test. As a 6th grader, I think he was expecting it to be more difficult. Well maybe one day short of six weeks... but not more than that... Which I was unaccountably irritated by! LOL And even worse, DS is taking it in February this year because the January date conflicted with the science fair, so I don't expect his scores to be back before the first week of April. *sigh*
angela in ohio
We did ours through MATS last year, but it also took exactly the amount of time they said. Dd was 5th grade, and I was surprised she did so well on an 8th grade test. It was eye opening. There was not much difference, in their statistics about all of the students taking it, between a gifted 5th grader and an average 8th grader. I would have thought grade level would matter more. KAR120C
Oh you know, ours was through MATS too... maybe Duke is faster but since they all go through ACT for the report I expect it's about the same!
Beth in Central TX
What is MATS? Google didn't help for an acronym of such a common word...
angela in ohio
Midwest Academic Talent Search - it's like Duke, but for a different region...
