Twinmom
My DD is about to head off to a developmental vision exam. She hates doctor visits, exams and any testing whatsoever! Kind of freaks her out to be examined by someone she doesn't know. Can anyone tell me what to expect so I can prepare her? I'm hoping that knowing what will happen will reduce her anxiety level. Thanks,
Laurie4b
Much of it is like a regular visit to an optometrist. She'll be tested for acuity, will need to look in little machines now and then, follow a pen light, look at an object as it comes close to her and moves away from her...that kind of thing. She will likely do some reading while a machine is recording her eye movements. She may also do activities where she copies a shape, tries to remember visual input, etc.
