emonline
I have a Second Grade daughter, who just finished achievement testing. She did extremely well, except for Vocabulary. Her vocabulary was "below level" and she had difficult figuring out the meaning of unfamiliar words from context. Has anyone else had a child with this issue, and if so, how did you work on it with them? Any good vocab resources out there?
Ottakee
I know that a lot of families use Wordly Wise. They have various different levels of workbooks that are quite easy to use.
dalynnrmc
I agree that Wordly Wise is an excellent program. My ds9 (4th gr) deals with a language processing disorder; his spelling and grammar are excellent, but his comprehension including vocabulary is lower than target. I considered Wordly Wise, but went with Words Are Wonderful for the price. :) Book 1 is geared towards a 2nd grader and would probably work... er, Wonderfully!
