Someone needs to write a Modern U.S. History curriculum for Grades K-2...

I mean, you have some pretty heavy duty topics going on, ie World Wars, Civil Rights, Vietnam War, etc etc. Alot of that has some pretty heavy "political" thought process to really understand the issues.

Seems as a whole, it is a bit more than intense than a K-2nd would be able to 1, understand, and 2. care about.

Not to say parts of that couldn't be done, like the Space program or even certain aspects of the Wars, etc. Even if someone put together a curriculum,

they would have to cherry-pick their topics so carefully, and I wonder even there are even many resources (ie good reading) at that age level to cover those topics.

But frankly, I think that Early American History, and Ancients, are more interesting time periods for that age. There's plenty of time to cover Modern American History, when the child is a bit older and can really comprehend what was happening.

IMHO
