Bang!Zoom!
My daughter has a large arachnoid cyst in her brain. It was discovered thru an MRI. We are going to see a neurologist to learn more very soon. I have a list of questions to ask, have studied high quality documents on this condition. I try *not* to read too much on it, it tends to scare me silly with the "what ifs". Has anyone here had any experience or exposure to children with this condition? Denisemomof4
no, but dd11 has a pineal cyst. The dr told us it was on her brain stem which I've questioned - why not on the pineal gland? I don't like the dr and want to go see someone else about it but what I find is that drs poo-poo away the symptoms and write me up as an overly nervous mother. :glare: There is a yahoo group for people with arachnoid cysts that I've belonged to. The large majority of the group had arachnoid cysts. I never found anyone with a pineal cyst. The symptoms range from headaches, insomnia, dizziness, etc. I'm sure you've read about the symptoms. Dd11 has those from time to time and is prone to migraines. I fear once her cycles begin the symptoms will get worse. Hers is 7 mm and they get concerned if it gets to 10 mm. How big is your sons? Does he have any symptoms? From what I understand, arachnoid cysts are common and at least can be removed through surgery if they are problematic/symptomatic. Finding a doctor who BELIEVES the symptoms are caused by the cyst will be difficult according to the yahoo group I mentioned. Why was your son having an MRI? Did he have symptoms? :grouphug:
